The camp is named for the river it overlooks - one of its few perennial rivers and the perfect wilderness base for a safari in the Kruger National Park. Lower Sabie's ideal location provides excellent game viewing throughout the year.

Location & Setting

Lower Sabie Rest Camp is accessible from either Malelane or Crocodile Bridge Gates. It is in the southeastern part of the park and is known for its spectacular river bank location and exceptional predator sightings. Lions and Leopards are frequently seen on the drive between Lower Sabie and Satara.

Rooms

The camp has a luxury guest house, bungalows under thatch, guest cottages, huts, safari tents, and campsites. On safari in South Africa with African Sky, you will always stay in an air-conditioned room with an en suite bathroom. Though not luxurious, the accommodations are comfortable and provide an ideal base for daily game drives in the wooded savannah.

Facilities

The camp has a newly built restaurant and viewing deck that offers panoramic river views. This venue is ideal for enjoying magnificent sunsets while viewing different animals quenching their thirst in the river. There are many picnic spots near Lower Sabie which serve to enhance an authentic safari experience. The most popular are Nkhulu (brilliant leopard territory) and Tshokwane, set in the shade of a massive sausage tree.
