First, we'll take care of a few formalities. Once formalities are completed, you'll be escorted to the appropriate departure terminal, where you'll be assisted in boarding a local flight to Hoedspruit, a small tourism and agriculturally orientated town in the central Lowveld just outside the famous Kruger National Park.
You'll be met and transferred to your overnight accommodations in the nearby Sabi Sand Game Reserve on arrival. Here, you will have the opportunity to experience the romance of the African bush first-hand. After an exhilarating first-afternoon game drive, enjoy a delicious meal around a roaring campfire under the starry night sky. Arathusa is one of the more secluded lodges, affording guests a relaxing and intimate African bush encounter.
Guests will spend three nights here. Experienced rangers and trackers conduct two game drives in open 4x4 vehicles daily in search of the legendary Big Five and the many other mammal, plant, and bird species that grace this wilderness area.
After breakfast, guests are transferred to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport for a flight to Livingstone in Zambia. On arrival, guests will be transferred to the David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River near the majestic Victoria Falls. The ideal lodge location means that most rooms overlook the Zambezi River. Enjoy a refreshing sundowner while taking in the breathtaking sunset from your private patio, after which you may relish an evening meal on the deck around the pool.
You will enjoy three privately accompanied activities during your stay in Linvingstone. In each case, you will be met at your lodge and taken to the relevant location by private transfer. The specific times will be communicated before your arrival. Many other activities are available and can be incorporated into your itinerary.
Guests spend three nights at The David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa, with breakfast included daily.
A sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River is a magical experience with a backdrop of beautiful scenery. The cruise departs late afternoon and is typically two to three hours long. It could offer the opportunity to view animals like elephants and antelope approaching the river's edge for a drink; hippos and crocodiles are also frequently spotted. Drinks and snacks are included.
An experienced guide will take you to various vantage points from which you can view the falls. The guide will highlight different features of the natural marvel and its surrounding rainforest. It is one of the most impressive natural sights in the world.
Local artisans are renowned for their skill and creativity. The craft market at Victoria Falls offers the opportunity to purchase a wide range of souvenirs. Being accompanied will give you the advantage of local knowledge regarding prices and where the finest items are displayed.
After a decadent breakfast, the honeymooners will be transferred to Chobe Game Lodge in Botswana. Each room has a private veranda with a view of the Chobe River. Guests will spend three nights in the intimacy of the African bush and may enjoy two Chobe National Park safaris each day.
In the late afternoon, you will embark on an open 4x4 safari in the park or a game-viewing boat cruise on the Chobe River. The sunset cruise on the Chobe River is one of Africa's most magical safari experiences, with sightings of vast herds of buffalo, elephants, and numerous other species approaching the river for water. Birdsong fills the air, and the haunting cry of the fish eagle adds to the wonder.
Your activities in Chobe alternate between daily open 4x4 game drives in the park - mostly keeping reasonably close to the river - and water-based game viewing on the Chobe River, arguably the single most rewarding wildlife activity in Southern Africa today. Chobe National Park finds itself at the core of the Kavango–Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area. The Chobe riverfront where your lodge is located is a hive of wildlife activity, one of a handful of 'must see' hotspots on the African continent.
The floodplain, close to the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers, is an oasis in an often harsh and unforgiving environment. Hundreds of hippos, large Nile crocodiles, and an incredible variety of birdlife are just some of the animals encountered here. The floodplain is home to Botswana's only puku antelope population. Elephant herds numbering in the hundreds are regularly seen during the late afternoon, sometimes swimming across one of the many channels. Close encounters are all but guaranteed. Buffalo often wade across to the perennially green islands for better grazing. Lions, spotted hyenas, wild dogs, and leopards are sometimes sighted along the riverbank. Many species of antelope, including the impressive sable, are common. Giraffes, zebra, impala, and wildebeest are frequently sighted on game drives. A lucky few will find themselves witnesses to a 'kill.'
Following a farewell breakfast under African skies, the honeymooners will be transferred to Kasane Airport, where they will be assisted with checking in for their flight to Johannesburg. It will end a honeymoon that should be painted in memory forever.
