Location & Setting

Xakanaxa camp is on the edge of the Khwai River in the heart of Moremi Game Reserve, with views of Xakanaxa Lagoon. It is one of the oldest safari camps in the Okavango Delta and has been refurbished many times. The area is often voted one of the best game-viewing areas in Africa.

Rooms

With an original African theme, Xakanaxa ensures a comfortable stay in 12 safari tents on elevated platforms. The tents are on the bank of the Khwai River, and a private viewing deck offers spectacular views of the Xakanaxa Lagoon. Each room is en suite with a sprinkler system that creates a cooling effect. Xakanaxa's latest addition is the Owner's Cottage, with a free-standing outdoor bathtub that looks out onto the river. The cottage has a plunge pool, viewing deck, lounge area, and sala.

Facilities

A lovely dining room with reed walls and a bar lit by romantic hurricane lamps cast a warm glow over the camp. Decorated in the same African theme as the tents, the main lodge extends into the Khwai River, and surrounding decks ensure fantastic views. The building has a lounge, dining room, and a small library. Under big Jackalberry trees is a fireplace where guests can socialize at night, with a roaring fire to set the mood.
