From: POASossusvlei Lodge borders the entrance gate to the Namib-Naukluft National Park in southern Namibia, near Sossusvlei. The lodge is a drive of just over four hours from Windhoek and just under four hours from Swakopmund. You also have the option of traveling here by light charter flights of roughly an hour and a half from these main centers.
Sossusvlei Lodge was constructed with the environment in mind and used eco-friendly building methods and materials. There are 45 spacious accommodation units, as well as a juniour suite and six family units with two bedrooms each. The interiors of the rooms feature natural wood and adobe plaster, complemented by canvas. Amenities such as air-conditioning, an in-room safe, and a tea and coffee station make every room a plush hideaway. Every unit has an en suite bathroom, complete with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. Family units with interleading doors are available.
The lodge features large central areas that include a lounge, dining room, sundowner deck, and bar area. A beer garden, typical of German tradition, can also be found in the main lodge. It also features an adventure center and a curio shop where local arts and crafts are on display - ideal for small gifts.
