Pilanesberg is a very unique reserve and certainly a top tier safari destination. The reserve is a favourite weekend getaway destination, and a family-favorite as well, with the Sun City Golf Courses and Resort nestled on the park’s border. On a warm sunny day, the afternoon can be spent at the Sun City water park for the kids, or on the Gary Player Golf Course's greens, before returning to the lodge and enjoying a sunset safari in the wilderness. Rhinos, elephant, leopard and lion are just some of the highlight sightings guests to this park can expect as they explore the meandering roads between the hills that was once hot magma on the volcano surface millions of years ago.
The lodge has a number of suite and accommodation types, catering for a wide range of luxury travelers, notably standard suites, luxury suites, family suites, the Pilane Villa and the Royal Pilane Suite. Their standard suites are cozy and well-finished, with twin and king bed options. The family suite features two rooms, one with a twin and the other with a king-sized bed, with a private sitting room and plunge pool. Their luxury suites feature a large private plunge pool, outside fireplace and beatifully decorated sitting room, along with a king-sized bed and en suite bathroom. The Pilane Villa, meant for larger groups, comes with a private facilities overlooking the surrounding wilderness, a luxury room and 5 standard rooms. Finally, the Royal Pilane Suite, with its range of private facilities and butler service tops the list, all in unmatched luxury.
All rooms come with an outdoor shower, a must on a hot day, while the lodge has a pool, safari vehicles, an outdoor dining area and boma, conferencing facilities and a spa.
