A romantic journey across the northern reaches of South Africa, from the bucolic sanctuary of the lowveld to the wilds of Sabi Sand.
Guests will be met and welcomed upon arrival at O.R. Tambo International in Johannesburg. As the Northern Exposure Honeymoon begins, we travel east to the Mpumalanga province and Highgrove House. The Mpumalanga Panorama Route is the focus of the next three days. Here visits are made to the Blyde River Gorge , dominated by the triplet peaks of the Three Rondavels and Bourke's Luck , where the unique geological features of the potholes can be seen. God's Window is also on the itinerary. It is a cleft in the edge of the escarpment from where magnificent views of the Lowveld can be enjoyed. God's Window is situated in a patch of indigenous forest where many flowering and aromatic plants flourish.
Breakfast at Highgrove is followed by a short drive to the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. The reserve forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park and is home to most of South Africa's finest game lodges. Lion Sands Private Game Reserve is situated along the southern boundary of the Sabi Sand directly across from the world-acclaimed Kruger National Park . It is the only reserve in the Sabi Sand which has access to the Sabie River. After an exhilarating first afternoon game drive, enjoy a delicious meal around a roaring camp fire under the African night sky. Guests spend three nights at Lion Sands River Lodge on a full board basis. Two game drives and a bush walk are conducted daily.
A last morning game drive and breakfast are followed by a flight to Johannesburg, where guests are met and transferred to the Sun City Resort. The resort is the largest of its kind on the African continent and offers honeymooners a multitude of different entertainment options. Take in a show or try your luck at gambling at the Lost City casino. Enjoy a variety of dining experiences in stunning settings around the resort, or opt for a stroll amongst the beautiful gardens.
