At Motswari, you can enjoy an authentic African safari that is reasonably priced.
The most important reason for your stay will naturally be the game drives, conducted twice daily by skilled and knowledgeable rangers and trackers on comfortable open-top 4x4 vehicles.
Your afternoon game drive will continue well after sunset, allowing you to encounter nocturnal creatures as they awaken from daylight inactivity.
The lodge's proximity to the Kruger National Park means you will enjoy an abundance of wildlife sightings, including the entire Big Five complement and a variety of other species.

Location & Setting

Motswari is in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The lodge is located on the edge of the mopane belt, a vast tract of woodland stretching from the east to the west coast of Southern Africa and dominated by the mopane tree, a much-loved food source for elephants. It is easily accessible from Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit.

Rooms

Motswari offers 15 comfortable thatched 'rondavel-style' bungalows decorated with hints of colonial Africa. The en suite bathrooms are spacious, with bathtub views of the surrounding bush and river. Bungalows are air-conditioned, and each offers a private deck with bush views.

Facilities

The main lodge features a lounge, bar, indoor and outdoor dining area, and a small library. A highlight of your safari will surely be evening meals in the boma under a large mopane tree. The lodge's capable Shangaan staff will serve you in colorful traditional dress and often sing songs as they carry in your delicious meal.
