Highlights & What to Expect

  • Day and night game drives in a private concession, with frequent sightings of elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lechwe, and predators such as lion and leopard.
  • Water-based activities—mokoro excursions and boating—operate when seasonal flood levels permit, revealing channels, lagoons, and excellent birding.
  • Guided bush walks (conditions allowing) emphasize tracks, spoor, botany, and safe, respectful encounters with the Delta’s smaller wonders.
  • A raised main deck and swimming pool overlook open floodplain, ideal for quiet wildlife viewing between activities.
  • Photographers benefit from varied habitats—woodland, seasonal floodplains, and water channels—within short range of camp.

Location & Setting

Located on a private Okavango Delta concession adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve, Stanley’s Camp sits amid seasonal floodplains, islands of woodland, and open savanna. Access is typically via light aircraft from Maun or Kasane to a nearby airstrip, followed by a short game-drive transfer. The area’s character changes with the annual flood: in dry months, game concentrates on remaining water sources; as the waters rise, channels and lagoons return, drawing hippo, crocodile, red lechwe, and prolific birdlife while enhancing boat and mokoro outings.

Rooms

The camp features ten spacious, classic canvas suites raised on timber decking for airflow and views. Interiors balance safari tradition with practical comforts: quality beds with mosquito nets, ceiling or pedestal fans, writing desks, and ample storage. Each suite has an en-suite bathroom with hot running water and a walk-in shower, plus a private veranda for armchair game viewing. Thoughtful touches—such as charging points available at set times and discreet turndown—support an unplugged yet comfortable stay immersed in the Delta.

Facilities

Central guest areas include an inviting lounge, bar, and indoor–outdoor dining spaces set on an elevated deck overlooking the floodplain. A swimming pool offers welcome respite during warmer hours, and a small reference library and curio nook round out the relaxed atmosphere. Wi-Fi is typically available in the main area at scheduled times. Evenings often feature fireside drinks, private or communal dining, and flexible mealtimes to suit activity schedules, keeping the focus on unhurried wildlife viewing and genuine camp hospitality.
