The Resort

Azura sits on Benguerra Island, the second-largest isle in the Bazaruto Archipelago and protected since 1971 as part of Bazaruto Marine National Park. Expect sweeping beaches, shifting sandbars and calm, turquoise shallows frequented by turtles and dolphins, with the archipelago notable for hosting the last viable dugong population in the Western Indian Ocean. Guests typically fly to Vilanculos, then take a short helicopter transfer to Benguerra’s helipad, arriving within minutes of the resort. The setting balances true remoteness with easy access for seamless bush-and-beach combinations.

Twenty thatched villas line the beach, combining rustic textures with contemporary comforts.
