Overview of Desert Horse Inn

The inn lies around 3 km east of Aus where rocky mountains meet broad grass-covered plains.

Location & Setting

This transitional landscape marks a striking change between the interior and the increasingly arid country toward the coast, while Garub, Kolmanskop and Lüderitz can all be visited from here. It is a particularly attractive stop where the southern edge of the Namib Desert begins to dominate the scenery.

Rooms

The 30 rooms comprise twin, double and four-bed configurations, allowing couples and families to be accommodated without forcing every guest into the same layout. All include a veranda, en-suite shower, refrigerator, safe, tea and coffee facilities, ceiling fan and air-conditioning for both cooling and heating. Their understated farmhouse appearance suits the rural setting and avoids competing with the surrounding mountain views.
