Location & Setting

Rattray's overlooks the Sand River and Kruger Park. It is bordered to the west by the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, of which it formed a part for many years. Access to the lodge is via Skukuza Airport, from where a short transfer traverses part of the Sabi Sand after entering the reserve at Shwa's Gate.

Rooms

Accommodation is provided in eight khayas, each spacious and lavishly decorated. The khayas all offer river views. Each is equipped with an indoor and outdoor dining area, his and hers bathrooms, and a heated plunge pool. Air-conditioning and ceiling fans add to the comfort during the warm summer days. Computer and internet facilities connect you to the rest of the world should you so require.

Facilities

The main lodge is elegant and inviting. It features a lounge, dining room, and a library that houses rare books and works of art. The wine cellar has a great selection of fine local and international wines. These areas walk out onto a central deck and swimming pool area. The bar features photos depicting the area's history and its pioneers. The camp also features a small gym. Massages and other therapies are available on request.
