The town is one of South Africa's oldest settlements and has a unique historic character. Swellendam Country Lodge is a magnificent example of the region's architectural heritage. It is set in lovely gardens with views of the Langeberg Mountains. It can be reached from Cape Town and parts of the Garden Route in about two hours and twenty minutes.
