Akademie Street is a home-from-home in Franschhoek in the heart of the Cape Winelands. The town has many historic buildings, fine dining restaurants, antique shops, and art galleries. It is an ideal luxury base from which to explore the many wine farms in the region and enjoy available outdoor pursuits. It can be reached from Cape Town in just over an hour.
This boutique hotel has five luxury suites and three cottages. No expense was spared to make these large, comfortable rooms feel like you are in your fully equipped home. Everything you might need is right at hand and free of extra charge, from sunscreen and hats to utilize while lounging poolside to pastries and coffee that can be enjoyed during lazy, sunlit afternoons and even award-winning local wines that can be savored while relishing the splendid view. The suites and cottages have all been given Afrikaans names and have their special attributes to make your stay a truly wonderful and unique experience. These special attributes include private wood-burning hot tubs, plunge pools, slipper baths with wonderful views, and fireplaces.
Akademie Street does not formally serve dinner, but there is no shortage of choices with eight out of South Africa's top one hundred restaurants in Franschhoek. On request, dinner can be organized under the pergola in the garden. Breakfast is served daily. Numerous delicious hot dishes and fifteen local fruits can be enjoyed for breakfast. Moreover, Akademie Street will even prepare items for breakfast on request, which are not listed on their wide-ranging menu – this is service at its best. Guests are also welcome to unwind with a drink in Akademie Street's chic lounge or bar.
