7 Day Okavango Delta & Linyanti Safari

Guests are met and welcomed at O.R. Tambo International and assisted with check-in for a flight to Maun, Botswana. Upon arrival, a light aircraft transfer awaits to fly you into the heart of the Okavango Delta, landing in the renowned Moremi Game Reserve. From the airstrip, a short game drive transfer brings you to Camp Xakanaxa, where you will spend the next three nights on a full board basis.

Camp Xakanaxa is situated along the Khwai River on the Xakanaxa Lagoon system, in one of the most scenically diverse regions of the Okavango Delta. Activities during your stay focus on morning and afternoon game drives, as well as motorized boat excursions through the permanent channels and lagoons. The area is known for excellent wildlife viewing, including Elephants, Buffalo, plains game, and predators, while birdlife is abundant year-round.

The Okavango River rises in the highlands of Angola and flows south into the Kalahari, where it spreads into a vast inland delta. This unique system creates a mosaic of waterways, floodplains, and islands, supporting one of Africa’s most pristine and wildlife-rich ecosystems.

A final morning activity in the Okavango Delta is followed by a light aircraft transfer to the Linyanti region, situated between the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park and Namibia’s Caprivi Strip. The Linyanti Swamp, fed by the Kwando River, forms the heart of this remote wilderness area and attracts large concentrations of wildlife, particularly during the dry season. Less frequented than the Okavango, the Linyanti offers an exclusive safari experience with excellent game viewing in a pristine setting.

You spend the next three nights at Linyanti Ebony Camp, an intimate tented camp set along the edge of the marsh. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives, night drives, guided walking safaris, and, when water levels permit, seasonal water-based activities such as boating or mokoro excursions. The area is well known for its large elephant herds, predator activity, and diverse birdlife.

Enjoy a last unhurried breakfast and a final morning game activity before bidding the Delta farewell and boarding your charter flight to Maun. From Maun, you continue to Johannesburg, where your safari comes to an end.
