Highlights & What to Expect

The location of Khwai River Lodge ensures regular sightings of elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and wild dogs.
Safari activities revolve around daily open 4x4 game drives and walking safaris accompanied by armed rangers.
Night drives are allowed in the Khwai Reserve, adding excitement to a stay at the lodge. Night drives are not permitted in the Moremi Game Reserve.
Most activities are conducted in the Khwai Reserve, but you will also experience safari drives in Moremi Game Reserve. The access gate is a stone's throw from the lodge.
Meals are prepared by local chefs with fresh ingredients that arrive via a light charter flight from Maun.

Location & Setting

Khwai River Lodge is set among ancient trees on the northeastern tip of the Okavango Delta. It is in the Khwai Reserve that borders Moremi, arguably the most famous of all conservation areas. The lodge overlooks the river's floodplain with exceptional animal sightings from camp, a regular occurrence.

Rooms

The lodge has fourteen tented suites on raised wooden platforms with large private decks. The tents have thatched roofs to keep them cool and dry. Guests can laze around on easy chairs or hammocks on their private decks, watching the wildlife pass by. All luxury tents have an en suite bathroom and typical suite facilities, such as air conditioning, a writing table, and tea/coffee facilities.

Facilities

A safari at Khwai is characterized by delicious cuisine served in the covered dining room or on your private deck. The lodge features a comfortable lounge and a heated swimming pool. For extra safari magic, stargazing with a telescope is provided. Safari activities are conducted in the early morning and late afternoon. Guests are accompanied by an experienced ranger and tracker in one of Africa's most remarkable wilderness areas.
