Highlights & What to Expect

Nature's drama unfolds from a viewing hide adjacent to the camp, where you can observe animals at eye level as they approach the watering hole.
Early morning and afternoon game drives offer the opportunity to interact with Africa's largest elephant population. You could also see predators like lions, leopards, and wild dogs. The second-largest zebra migration passes through the region, though this is seasonal.
During the summer months from December, the area is a bird-lovers paradise, with more species occurring than during the drier times of the year.
Stargazing in the region is phenomenal. A powerful telescope on site allows you to admire the heavens and spot constellations you may not have seen before.
Bushman paintings, considered more than 1500 years old, and a grove of ancient baobab trees are highlighted during your stay.

Location & Setting

Savute Elephant Camp is in a remote area of Chobe National Park, one of Africa's finest safari areas. It is accessible by light charter flight from either Maun or Kasane. The area is renowned for its high concentration of elephants. The camp is an ideal base to explore the unique geological features of the Savute channel nearby.

Rooms

In an oasis-type setting, 12 luxurious tents provide clients with luxury accommodation in this remote wilderness. Each tent has an en suite bathroom and a room with a four-poster bed covered by a mosquito net. The tents offer air conditioning, a mini bar, and a small safe. They are raised on a wooden platform, with a wooden deck where guests can relax on easy chairs or in a hammock. All the tents have traditional thatched roofs to provide shading from the African sun.

Facilities

The main lodge at Savute Elephant Lodge features a comfortable lounge, dining area, and a swimming pool. Dinner can be enjoyed in the traditional boma under one of Africa's most lovely night skies. Your stay will surely be one of the most memorable during your safari in Botswana.
