Location & Setting

De Hoop Nature Reserve is east of Cape Agulhas, a mere three-hour drive from Cape Town. It is one of the most impressive coastal reserves in South Africa and provides an ideal halfway destination between Cape Town and the Garden Route. The closest towns are Bredasdorp and Swellendam.

Rooms

De Hoop Collection offers accommodation to all budgets. There are several "Melkkamer" houses. A few cottages have three bedrooms, a kitchen, a lounge, and a braai area. Then there are the suites, the most luxurious units available, with king-size beds and en suite bathrooms. Most rooms overlook the magnificent wetland.

Facilities

Fig Tree restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining areas a short walk from rooms and suites. There is a tennis court, swimming pool, and boules courtyard. The southernmost Cape vulture colony can be observed just outside the reserve, where the local farmers have made a "vulture restaurant." A few local wine farms are accessible from the De Hoop Nature Reserve.
