Upon entering the Kruger National Park, your safari begins as the first animals should be spotted within a minute or two. From Kruger Gate, the safari heads for Skukuza where guests are assisted with check-in. Some time is then allotted for relaxation before embarking on a late afternoon game drive in the area immediately surrounding Skukuza.
The day’s game drives are conducted in the southern section of the Kruger National Park. The area is characterized by wooded savanna and is well-watered by both the Sabie and Sand river systems. The area offers exceptional lion and leopard sighting opportunities, as both these predators occur in significant numbers in this part of the Kruger National Park. There is, of course, a wealth of other mammal and bird species that can be seen while on safari in the area.
A last morning spent in the company of your African Sky guide is followed by a transfer to the Sabi Sand Private Reserve where the next two nights will be devoted to experiencing a private lodge safari in the Greater Kruger National Park. After being assisted with check-in at the lodge, guests may enjoy some time for relaxation before embarking on an open 4x4 safari conducted during the late afternoon.
The safari experiences on this day include morning and afternoon game drives as well as an optional bush walk. These safari activities are led by an experienced ranger and tracker and are conducted in the northwestern corner of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. This reserve is internationally renowned for the frequency of leopard sightings it offers and is regarded to be the finest of the private game reserves to be found in South Africa.
A morning safari is conducted from Arathusa Safari Lodge after which guests enjoy a late breakfast before being transferred to Hoedspruit Airport for a flight to Johannesburg, where your Kruger Park & Private Lodge Safari comes to an end.
